Pay: $55,000-$65,000

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist in Tampa. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), vendor relations, and account reconciliations, while collaborating closely with the broader finance team. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage accounts payable, including invoice entry, approvals, and timely payments
  • Handle accounts receivable, including billing, collections, and posting payments
  • Maintain and strengthen vendor relationships, addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies
  • Perform account reconciliations (bank statements, vendor accounts, customer accounts, and general ledger)
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances
  • Support internal teams with financial data and reporting needs
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting best practices

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR processes and general accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
